Player-of-the-Week, Offense

Nyassinu Crowell 

So. / Running Back

Westland, MI

Nyassinu Crowell had 191 yards of total offense for Central Lakes College, en route to Offensive Player-of-the-Week for the Raiders.  Central Lakes defeated M State-Fergus Falls, 35-7 to close out the regular season. 

Crowell - a sophomore from Westland, Michigan - carried 21 times on the day for CLC, averaging 8.1 yards a touch. His longest run was for 42 yards and he scored a touchdown. His two catches averaged 10.0 yards for Central Lakes. 

The Raiders finished 5-0 in the Eastern Division and 6-2 overall. They will host Fond fu Lac Tribal & Community College on Sunday, October 28 at 1:30pm in the first round of MCAC playoff action.

Devan Madron

Henderson, Colorado 

 

Devan Madron has earned Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors for a 16 tackle effort in Vermilion's 41-8 loss to Minnesota West CTC.

Madron - from Henderson, Colorado,  had 11 solo stops and five assists to lead all players in the contest. Three of his tackles were behind the line of scrimmage and he forced a fumble and had a fumble recovery. 

Vermilion Community College concluded their season at 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the MCAC Eastern Division. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MCAC Eastern Division 

Special Teams Player-of-the-Week

 

 Trebian Suggs 

Trebian Suggs has been named the Eastern Division Special Teams Player-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday, October 21.

Suggs  had four kickoff returns in FDLTCC's 48-26 loss to Dakota College-Bottineau on Saturday.  He scored a touchdown on one of his returns and averaged 32.0 a touch on special teams.  He also ran for 101 of offense for the Thunder and is credited for 206 yards passing and three touchdowns as a quarterback. 

Fond du Lac will travel to Central Lakes College on Sunday, October 28 for a 1:30pm kickoff in the first round of the MCAC football post-season.      

 

Notable Performances in the Eastern Division:

FDLTCC receiver Keenan Brown had six catches for 129 yards and La Darin McAllister had a 71-yard touchdown grab.   Cedrick King had an interception for FDLTCC while also leading the Thunder in tackles with 10.  Both Dante Jones and KeAndre Smith had pass break-ups in the FDL secondary.   

 

Ny'Travious Barkley led the Norsemen running the football, collecting 70 yards on 18 carries. Connor Cusick hit both his PAT attempts and racked up 245 yards in punting efforts.  Lorenzo Wells chipped in 33 yards on a pair of kickoff returns while James Smith returned an interception for a score. Devan Burns was credited with 15 tackles and Sam Okuayinonu had 11, with nine of the solo variety. Okuayinonu had a sack among his two tackles-for-loss. 

Devin Joyce  had nine tackles for Itasca in a 47-41 overtime win over Northland CTC, while Cameron Strapp added eight stops. Terrence Nash had a pair of kickoff returns for 52 total yards and Enrico Francato was a perfect 6-of-6 on PAT attempts. He also had 295 yards in kickoffs for the Vikings.  D'Monta Harris led Itasca with three catches, good for 85 yards on the day.  Joshua Booker was the leading Viking ball carrier, with 133 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns.  Mitchell Miller was 12-of-18 passing for 196 yards and three scores. 

 

Central Lakes College student-athlete Emmanuel Smith was five-for-five on PAT's while Eli Winegarner  had seven total tackles on Saturday, including a sack. He also forced a fumble.  Quentin Skinner added an interception and two stops for the Raiders.  Jake Franklin had a 15-of-27 passing day for Central Lakes with a pair of touchdowns.  Ridge Reed had 40 yards on the ground and Jordan Thompson contributed four catches.    

Haden Leach  had 7 tackles for Vermilion against MnWest on Saturday, including a sack and 2.5 tackles for loss.  Brandan Prospere had an interception and sack for VCC, while Tas Dericho punted five times for 191 total yards.  Dericho also had a 25-yard kickoff return.  Lakeith Nunn led Vermilion with four catches and had 42 yards rushing.   Oscar Lopez had a touchdown reception among his two catches on the day for VCC.
