The semifinal rounds of playoff football in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference are complete and three student-athletes stood out above the rest in claiming Player-of-the-Week awards for the week ending Sunday, November 4.

MCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week Craig Wells led Northland to a 53-7 rout of (rv) Mesabi Range College to reach their second consecutive MCAC State Championship game. Wells accounted for seven total touchdowns on the day; six passing TD's and running for a score himself against the Norsemen. Wells was 23-of-35 for 421 passing yards and ran eight times for another 53 yards and a touchdown. He did not have an interception on the day and connected with five different Pioneer receivers. Wells' longest passing play was a 53 scoring strike and longest rush was a 26 yard effort. NCTC is 7-2 overall and will compete on Sunday for the MCAC State Championship. Kickoff at St. Cloud State University is set for noon at Husky Stadium.

MCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week Northland Pioneer Jonas Dorvil had 13 tackles, including 11 solo stops, in NCTC's 53-7 semi-final win over Mesabi Range College on Saturday. He had two tackles for loss against the Norsemen, along with forcing and recovering a fumble. Dorvil added a pass break-up to the Pioneer effort as well. Kickoff at St. Cloud State University is set for noon at Husky Stadium.

Jack Quaal Fr. / Placekicker Brainerd, MN

MCAC Special Teams Player-of-the-Week Central Lakes College placekicker Jack Quaal hit his longest field goal attempt of the season, connecting with a 30 yard effort in a 35-15 CLC loss to NDSCS on Sunday, November 4. The CLC kicker also had four kickoffs on the day for the Raiders, who conclude their MCAC football season at 7-3 overall and 6-0 against Eastern Division foes. Quaal was three-for-three in 2018 on field goals for Central Lakes and hit 13-of-19 PAT attempts over the course of the season.
