Former Mesabi Range football player and NJCAA All-America selection Sam Okuayinonu returns to Minnesota today with the University of Maryland

As eight football teams from the Minnesota College Athletic Conference prepare for the quarterfinal rounds which begin tomorrow, Sunday, 10/27, some eyes will be on the Gopher - Terrapins Big Ten game today in Minnesapolis at 2:30pm.

Former Mesabi Range College standout Sam Okuayinonu visits the University of Minnesota with the University of Maryland for a game to be televised on ESPN. 

Okuayinonu , the NJCAA Region XIII Defensive Player-of-the-Year last season and a 2019 NJCAA All-America selection, has played in seven games so far this season for Maryland; he has 15 total tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack so far this season  For more on the former Norseman, click this link. 

ESPN will televise today's game. 

Sunday's MCAC football fixtures are listed below; the quarterfinal rounds are inter-division affairs, hosted on campus at the higher seed.  The semi-final round - scheduled for Sunday, November 2 - will also be on campus sites determined after tomorrow's contests.   The MCAC State Championship Football game will take place at St. Cloud State University, with a 1:30pm kick-off at Husky Stadium.
