MCAC Men's Basketball Players-of-the-Week

The final stretch run for the regular season in men's basketball around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference yielded some strong individual performances as teams battle for post-season position.  The best of those efforts have earned Player-of-the-Week status in men's hoops for the week ending Sunday, February 17.

 

MCAC Northern Division

Player-of-the-Week

Calvin Lee

Soph. / Guard

Monroe, LA

                               

Mesabi Range College sophomore forward Calvin Lee has earned the MCAC Northern Division Player-of-the-Week honor for the week ending February 17.

Lee (Monroe, LA) logged 77 minutes of action for the Norse over the course of two key MCAC wins; MRC beat Hibbing 89-78 and dispatched Northland, 74-54.

Lee scored 39 total points over the two games, shooting 15-of-35 from the floor.  He also tallied 17 rebounds across the two contests, while also contributing seven assists and seven steals.

Mesabi Range College will look to cement their post-season spot and improve their seeding with a pair of games this week against Lake Superior College and FDLTCC.

 

 

MCAC Southern Division

Player-of-the-Week

Eric Racine

Soph. / Guard

Brooklyn Park, MN

                                                     

Coming off the bench in a pair of Cyclone wins, Eric Racine has been tabbed the MCAC Southern Division Player-of-the-Week for the week ending February 17.

The freshman guard from Brooklyn Park was 13-of-23 from the floor and hit 11-of-13 free throws on the way to scoring 45 points in wins over Ridgewater College (94-86) and M State-Fergus Falls (90-61).  Racine  also hauled in 11 rebounds, tallied five assists and had five steals. He was 8-of-14 from behind the 3-point line for his team on the week, as SCTCC moved to 9-3 in the Division.

St. Cloud Technical & Community College will face Western Technical College and Riverland Community College in a pair of important contests with significant post-season implications.
