In the final week of the regular season of men's basketball in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference, a handful of student-athletes stood above their peers and have received the last Players-of-the-Week awards for the 2018-19 season. 

MCAC Northern Division

Trey Jones

Soph. / Guard

Kenner, LA 

In a key week for playoff participation, Trey Jones of Rainy River Community College stood tall in a trio of games for the Voyageurs.

The sophomore guard from Kenner, Louisiana played 99 total minutes in a 2-1 week for RRCC, scoring a total of 60 points. His balanced effort included 21 assists, three steals and a blocked shot.  Jones shot 21-of-36 from the floor and was 14-of-18 from the charity stripe. 

Later this week, Rainy River will trek south to Coon Rapids and the campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College for the MCAC / Region XIII tournament held March 1-2-3.  RRCC enters the competition as the will be the #3 North seed and will compete for the opportunity to advance to the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championships. 

 

 

 

 

                                  

 

MCAC Southern Division

Player-of-the-Week

Eric Racine

Eric Racine , a freshman guard at St. Cloud Technical & Community College has been tabbed MCAC Southern Division Player-of-the-Week for his efforts in helping the Cyclones to the Divisional co-championship this past week.

The Brooklyn Park product logged over sixty minutes of playing time in a pair of key MCAC contests.  He scored a total of 48 points for the week, with 34 coming against co-champion Riverland in a OT affair on Saturday. Racine's 34 points were just a bucket short of the current SCTCC single game record of 36. In addition, Racine hauled in 13 total boards, had four assists and notched three steals.  He was 9-of-10 from the foul line.   

St. Cloud Technical & Community College heads to Coon Rapids and the campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College for the MCAC / Region XIII tournament held March 1-2-3.  The Cyclones will be the #2 South seed and hope to cap off their great season with a trip to the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championships.
