The men's basketball head coaches from the Southern Division of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference have tabbed Rochester Community & Technical College as the team to beat when the MCAC season gets underway later this month.

Rochester picked up five of a possible eight first-place nods, with Riverland grabbing two and Anoka-Ramsey also netting one first-place mention.  Overall, the Yellowjackets and Blue Devils were separated by just two points in the overall voting, as were third-place St. Cloud Technical & Community College and the fourth-pick Golden Rams.  The top four reflected a highly competitive 2018-19 campaign in which final standings came down to the final Divisional game of the year, an overtime contest between Riverland and SCTCC, won by the Blue Devils 99-92.

Riverland is also mentioned in the 2019-20 NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Pre-Season Poll, where they are "Receiving Votes"; view more at @NJCAABasketball.

Rounding out the poll places were Ridgewater and Minnesota West who tied at #5, with Minnesota State-Fergus Falls at #6 and Western Technical College at #7.  Stay posted for MCAC Men's and Women's Basketball 2019-20 Season Previews available later this week, as well as coaches polls in the other three MCAC Divisions.
