MCAC Men's Basketball: Athletes-of-the-Week

Men's basketball programs around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference had a chance to gauge the strength of the opposite MCAC Division this past weekend, as the majority of teams faced off in the MCAC Inter-Divisional series. There were several quality contests across the state, and some of the best individual performances of the past week are honored below with Athlete-of-the-Week awards.

Athlete-of-the-Week

Nashiem Lozier

Forward / Soph. 

Fort Lauderdale, FL 

                                                              

The Performance: In 106 minutes of action in a 2-1 week for Anoka-Ramsey Community College, sophomore Golden Ram Nashiem Lozier excelled offensively and on the boards. 

The forward from Fort Lauderdale, Florida had 62 points over the three games, and hauled in 35 total rebounds. He also chipped in four assists, three steals and four blocks to the ARCC effort. 

ARCC beat MCAC Northern Division pre-season No. 1 Central Lakes College 93-87, defeated Hibbing Community College 107-101 and fell to Rainy River, 96-90.

De'Andre Morris

Freshman / Forward

Royal Palm, FL

The Performance:  In 54 Minutes of work, De'Andre Morris scored 42 points, averaging 21 ppg off the bench for Rainy River Community College.

The freshman from Royal Palm, Florida was an impressive 10-for-12 from the field against nationally ranked Riverland in a 92-88 loss and was an even-better 11-for-11 from the charity stripe in a 96-90 win at Anoka Ramsey Community CollegeMorris also hauled in 13 rebounds between the two games.
