As regular season competition in men's basketball around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference winds down, games over the recent week have yielded the most recent MCAC Athletes-of-the-Week.

Adidas, the United States Marine Corps and Nicklasson Athletic Company sponsor the MCAC Athlete-of-the-Week awards, and proudly honor the following student-athletes for their performances this past week on behalf of their teams.

The Performance: 

Brenson Alteme turned in an outstanding effort this past week for Northland Community & Technical College in helping the Pioneers secure the No. 2 seed in the MCAC Northern Divison

The Port St. Lucie, Florida product scored 22 points and hauled in five rebounds in the only Pioneer contest of the week; Northland defeated Lake Superior, 70-51. 

Northland will head to Coon Rapids, Minnesota for the 2019-20 NJCAA North Plains District Tournament at Anoka-Ramsey this weekend.

The Performance: 

Montrell Jacobs was a key performer for Riverland Community College this past week.

The Milwaukee, Wisconsin sophomore scored 19 and had four rebounds in a RCC win over nationally-ranked St. Cloud Technical & Community College.  He also tallied 19 points and added seven rebounds in a mid-week 95-72 win over Western Tech.

Jacobs and Riverland travel to Anoka-Ramsey for the 2019-20 NJCAA North Plains District Tournament which begins this Friday.
