After third day, M-State keeps pace with leaders

Rochester, Mn--

The M-State Spartan golf team improved on their score from yesterday by one stroke, carding a 314 team total for round three, while Georgia Military and Columbus State maintained their grip on the first and second slots on the leaderboard.  

M-State was again paced by Chris Swensen (8th overall), with Mason Landborn (13th), Nick Kress (18th - tie), Will Tickle (36th - tie) and Kyle Boe (62nd -tie) all shooting strong rounds on the day. Collectively, the Spartans have a team score of 943 over the first three days of competition.  

With day three in the bag, M-State was able to open up their lead over 4th place College of DuPage, and will keep its sights set on closing the gap with Columbus State. 

In individual play action, Mesabi Range College golfer Nick Moe shot a 79 for a three day total of 242, while Ben Abrahamson of Hibbing Community College turned in a 85 in his third round.  Abrahamson's 253 total score puts him in 57th place overall, while Moe is 33rd.
