CLC Softball athlete earns Player-of-the-Week

Rochester, Mn-

In a week of strong performances in the MCAC North softball race, one athlete found a way to help her team in almost every way possible. For that all-around performance, Central Lakes College softball player, Kayla Larson, has been named the MCAC North Player-of-the-Week for April 23-30 in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.

Larson's Raider squad went 3-1 over four important MCAC North games- a April 29 double-header against Itasca CC followed by a twin tilt vs. Hibbing CC the next day.

The dual threat freshman from Isle, Mn, had a great weekend at the plate, going 5-for-13, highlighted by a triple and a double against ICC in the weekend opener.  Over the two series, Larson accounted for 8 RBI's, while also scoring four times herself.  If plate prowess weren't enough, Larson also pitched two of the four contests for Central Lakes, going 1-1 on the weekend, defeating Hibbing while dropping a tough match-up with the Vikings.

Central Lakes will face Mesabi Range College and Vermilion CC in MCAC action this week; for the complete MCAC softball picture, click this link for more information.
