MCAC Softball teams change places, keep 6 in National Rankings

Rochester, Mn-

The most recent NJCAA Division III softball poll saw some movement within the ranks of nation's elite teams, but the Minnesota College Athletic Conference maintained their significant presence with six squads receiving the nod from the committee.

St. Cloud Technical and Community College inched closer to the top spot, jumping from fifth to third in the May 2nd poll.  Only Rock Valley and Herkimer sit higher than the Cyclones, who punch in with a 32-7 overall record and a 17-1 MCAC ledger.

Anoka-Ramsey and Itasca are both still in the Top 10 as well, with the Golden Rams at #7 and Itasca sitting 10th.  ICC will compete against their MCAC North rivals this upcoming weekend in the Northern Division tournament held at Central Lakes College, while ARCC has important divisional games against Ridgewater on Thursday, April 4th.

Waiting on the doorstep of the Top Ten are Mesabi Range College, Minnesota State Fergus-Falls and Rainy River Community College, all of which are 'Receiving Votes' in the national poll.  With about 10 days left in the regular season for all three programs, they hope to pick up some additional 'W's' heading into the post-season.
