Kinghorn named National Pitcher-of-the-Week

Rochester-

St. Cloud Technical and Community College has had a dominating 2017 softball season so far this spring, and Shania Kinghorn has been a big part of their success.  On Wednesday, the NJCAA agreed, and named the sophomore from St. Michael-Albertville the Division III Pitcher-of-the-Week.

Kinghorn, threw 14 innings without giving up a run over the week of April 23-29.  She averaged a strikeout per inning, only walked two batters and scattered 3 hits over two games.  Kinghorg's latest two shutout victims, Minnesota West and Ridgewater College, lost to the Cyclones 3-0 and 8-0.    As a team, SCTCC is rolling along at 34-7 overall, and sit comfortably atop the MCAC South at 17-1.

Kinghorn, and her teammates, will take on Minnesota State-Fergus Falls on Thursday in an important MCAC South twinbill. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30pm.
