Region XIIIB softball heads into 2nd day

Rochester, Mn-- 

On Thursday, May 11th, four softball teams from the Northern Division of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference took to fields in Grand Rapids, Minnesota in post-season play.  The Region XIIIB softball tournament is the gateway to the NJCAA Division III National Championships, and based upon the regular season results this spring, will be an evenly contested and competitive affair.

Day 1 scores are as follows:

Itasca Community College defeated Central Lakes College, 2-0

Mesabi Range College defeated Rainy River Community College, 7-4 (8 innings)

Central Lakes College defeated Rainy River Community College, 12-9 (8 innings)

Itasca Community College defeated Mesabi Range College, 5-3

 

For Day 2, the schedule stands as: 

Mesabi Range vs. CLC at 11:30am

Winner of MRC/CLC takes on Itasca following the 11:30 game.  Itasca will need only one victory to win the title; the MRC/CLC winner will need to take two games from ICC for the championship.
