Two MCAC Softball Squads Garner National Recognition

Two softball programs from the Minnesota College Athletic Conference have been tabbed for success in the NJCAA Division III Pre-Season Softball poll, released on January 25. Click here for the complete NJCAA release. 

St. Cloud Technical & Community College and Itasca Community College are both featured in the Top 10, with the Cyclones clocking in at the #4 slot while the Vikings are sitting at #9. According to the NJCAA website, the first regular season poll will be released on March 6. 

SCTCC won the 2017 Southern Division title en route to building a 41-9 overall record.  They also captured the Region XIIIA tournament crown, sweeping a pair of contests over Minnesota West CTC and Anoka-Ramsey Community College.  In the 2017 National Tournament, St. Cloud Technical & Community College finished in the third round of the Consolation bracket, going 2-2 for the competition.   Itasca Community College was 28-22 overall in 2017 and battled through a tough NJCAA Region XIIIB tournament field to earn a trip to the NJCAA National Championships.  The Vikings were 10-2 in the MCAC Northern Division, including a perfect 8-0 mark at home.
