Despite a cold and snowy start to the 2018 Minnesota College Athletic Conference fastpitch softball season, teams persevered through several modified schedules to compete for the right to advance to the 2018 NJCAA Region XIIIA and Region XIIIB tournaments held May 10-12 at St. Cloud Technical & Community College and Central Lakes College, respectively.
The top performers within the MCAC 2018 softball season have been recognized by earning All-Division status for their exploits on the diamond over the past several weeks. The 2018 Minnesota College Athletic Conference Softball Southern All-Division teams are as follows:

Ashley Pool Pitcher / First Base St. Cloud Technical & Community College |
Ashley Pool contributed significantly to SCTCC success both as a pitcher and at first base. Pool was the Cyclone's ace over the course of the 2018 season. racking up 12 wins and pitching a total of 113.0 innings. The freshman was named Conference Pitcher of the Week three times this season. At the plate, Pool had nine home runs and collected 47 RBI's for the Southern Division champions. |
Chelsea Schroeder Shortstop St. Cloud Technical & Community College |
A standout shortstop, Chelsea Schroeder lead SCTCC in on-base percentage (.528) and was tops in the MCAC in stolen bases (32). Schroeder also drove in 28 runs and scored 44 runs herself for the MCAC Southern Division regular season champion Cyclone squad. The Cold Spring, Minnesota product also had two home runs and a .397 batting average. |
Regan Jastram Pitcher / Infield St. Cloud Technical & Community College |
Contributing both as a pitcher and position player for St. Cloud Technical & Community College, Regan Jastram turned in a consistent offensive production for SCTCC. Jastram belted six home runs, knocked in 38 RBI's and scored 28 runs. Jastram lead the team in batting average at a .463 clip and is from West Fargo, ND. |
Lindsey Swanson Pitcher / First Base Anoka-Ramsey Community College |
Lindsey Swanson was a dominant force for the Golden Rams over the 2018 season. Offensively, Swanson hit for a .481 batting average, belted 11 round-trippers and drove in 63 RBI's on 62 hits. In the pitching circle, Swanson won 15 games for Anoka-Ramsey with a 2.81 ERA. The sophomore from Mounds View drew the unique distinction of earning National Player and Pitcher-of-the-Week through a commanding set of outings between April 6 - 12.

Breanna Stang was a consistent player all season for Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Typically batting third in the lineup, Stang had a .447 batting average with an impressive 55 hits and 13 doubles in 2018. She also had 11 stolen bases to go with 38 RBI's as a key offensive contributor for the Golden Rams and head coach David Alto. |
Cleopatra Nystrom Outfield Anoka-Ramsey Community College |
Cleopatra Nystrom excelled as the lead-off batter for Anoka-Ramsey over the course of the spring season. Nystrom hit for a strong .438 batting average, collected 60 hits, scored 48 runs and swiped 31 stolen bases. Nystrom hit for power as well, with 10 doubles, three triples and three home runs in 2018 for ARCC. |
Aby Kienholz First Base Ridgewater College |
Ridgewater College freshman Aby Kienholz (Willmar, MN) had a phenomenal freshman year at first base for the Warriors, completing the 2018 season with zero fielding errors. Kienholtz also led her team in hitting with a batting average of .458 this past spring. |
Heidi Sellman Outfield Ridgewater College

Heidi Sellmann is a three-sport NJCAA athlete produced an equally successful softball season to match her success in volleyball and basketball over the past year at Ridgwater College. Sellman provided many standout defensive plays in center field for the Warriors and hit for a .451 average in 2018. Sellman is a freshman from Willmar, Minnesota.

Sam Lupkes First Base M State-Fergus Falls

M State-Fergus Falls sophomore Sam Lupkes put together a great 2018 spring softball season for the Spartans. Lupkes hit for a .491 batting average, cracked three home runs and drove in 26 RBI's. She also collected three doubles along the way, providing clutch hitting for the M State squad.

Kylie Ahl, a freshman from Blue Earth Minnesota, led Rochester Community & Technical College in batting average and grand slams during the 2018 Yellowjacket softball season. Ahl was a solid catcher for RCTC this past spring, gunning down several would-be base stealers in MCAC action.

Paige Falde excelled as a Cyclone leadoff hitter and was a key contributer in the SCTCC outfield. Falde finished tied for the team lead in RBI's with 47 and led the MCAC Southern Division regular season champion in doubles (19). Falde is a sophomore from St. Michael, Minnesota.

Morgan Scheiber, turned in a standout freshman season as the top catcher for St. Cloud Technical & Community College. Scheiber threw out eight base runners while only allowing one stolen base against SCTCC in conference action this spring. At the plate, Scheiber has 39 runs scored, recorded five home runs, and drove in 33 Cyclone base-runners. Scheiber is from Maple Lake, Minnesota. |
Kayla Eli Utility St. Cloud Technical & Community College |
Kayla Eli, a sophomore from Royalton, Minnesota, added speed and athleticism to an already potent SCTCC line-up. Eli scored 32 runs, swiped 16 bases and hit for a .314 average in 37 contests for the Cyclones. She also added 16 RBI's for St. Cloud Technical & Community College. |
Mickey Guenther Utility Anoka-Ramsey Community College |
Anoka-Ramsey sophomore Mickey Guenther found a way to factor into the Golden Rams success with a balanced performance over the course of the 2018 season. Guenther earned a .400 average, collected 44 hits and stole 16 bases. She scored 37 Golden Ram runs while turning in a stellar .917 fielding percentage as a utility player. |
Ashley Stepaniak Shortstop / Second Base Anoka-Ramsey Community College |
Ashley Stepaniak (Fr. / Isanti, MN) was a solid middle-infielder for the Anoka-Ramsey squad this past softball seaosn. Stepaniak hit in the middle of the line-up, turning in a . 394 batting average, knocking in 34 runs while also scoring 36 times herself. She also swiped 14 stolen bases and had a strong .485 on-base percentage for ARCC.

Ridgewater College freshman Morgan Swenson (New London, MN) patrolled third base for the Warriors in strong defensive fashion, proving to be one of the top defensive players in the Warrior squad. Swenson was equally reliable at the plate for Ridgewater, batting .442 for the 2018 spring season. |

A strong vocal leader on the field for Ridgewater College, Andrea Olson showed opponents a great arm from both behind the plate and third-base. Olson, a sophomore from Kerkhoven, Minnesota, also hit .408 during the 2018 season.

Sidney Imsande (Soph./ New York Mills, MN) was a key player for the softball team at M State-Fergus Falls both offensively and defensively. Imsande handled most the Spartan catching duties while also lining up at third base. In 2018, Imsande had 14 RBI's, five doubles and scored 19 Spartan runs.

Abi Folkert, a freshman from Kasson-Mantorville High School provided the RCTC squad a solid presense in the Yellowjacket lineup. Folkert also rotated through the RCTC outfield and hit for a .310 average with a home run and eight runs scored over the course of the 2018 season.

Kayla Crowell First Base / Catcher Riverland Community College |
Kayla Crowell, a sophomore at Riverland Community College from Hancock High School served as a RCC captain this past spring. At the plate, Crowell had a .407 batting average with two home runs and 11 RBI in 27 at-bats while notching a .667 slugging mark. Crowell only struck out once during the 2018 campaign.

Riverland Community College sophomore Brandi Myers was an integral part of the Blue Devil team in 2018. The Austin, Minnesota product batted for a .464 average while leading the team in Hits (13), runs scored (9), stolen bases (4), doubles (4) and on base percentage (.531). Myers proved to be versatile for RCC, playing several positions while batting either leadoff or in the third slot.

Abby Bauer, a RCTC freshman multi-sport athlete from Caledonia, Minnesota provided the Yellowjackets with a solid utility player across the infield. Bauer was a part of the RCTC women's basketball National Tournament team, but was able to join the softball team mid-season, contribuiting on both offense and defense.

Kalli Mathiasen, a freshman from Apollo High School in St. Cloud, Minnesota was a defensive stalward for SCTCC this past season. Mathiasen excelled in MCAC play, hitting for a .538 average in conference play with nine runs scored while collecting 29 put-outs and seven assists from the Cyclone outfield. |

Bailey Zenk provided Anoka-Ramsey a solid #2 pitcher in their line-up for 2018, picking up nine wins in 67.2 innings pitched. Zenk was equally productive at the plate for ARCC, hitting for a .453 average with 30 RBI's, and a .674 slugging percentatge. She notched 12 doubles for the Golden Rams, while reaching base at a .480 clip. |

PennieJo Brenke, a freshman at Rochester Community & Technical College from LeCenter, Minnesota was a solid utility player for the Yellowjackets in 2018. Brenke, a Cleveland High School product proved to be versatile for RCTC this season, playing all positions at some point in the 2018 season.
