MCAC Softball Weekly Honors

Rochester, MN-

A handful of games in the MCAC Northern Division produced the Northern Division Player and Pitcher of the week for the week ending Sunday, March 24.  Activity in both Divisions picks up this week with several squads traveling to tournaments around the state as softball teams gear up for April action as MCAC schedules begin soon.

Janet Humbert

International Falls, MN

Janet Humbert of Rainy River Community College has earned the MCAC Northern Division Player-of-the-Week honor for the week ending Sunday, March 24.

Humbert had eight hits in twenty at-bats during the recent RRCC spring trip.  She knocked in fiver RBI's and had a pair of doubles; Humbert also scored four Voyageurs runs as well. Defensively, the International Falls sophomore had a .828 fielding average with 15 put-outs and nine assists. 

Rainy River will next play on Saturday, March 30 in the Irishdome in Rosemount, Minnesota.

Justina Hawley

Fernly, NV

Justina Hawley, a pitcher for Rainy River Community College has earned the MCAC Northern Division Pitcher-of-the-Week honor for the week ending Sunday, March 24.

Hawley led the Voyageurs to a season-opening 12-7 win over Camden County College.  She went the full seven innings, scattering 9 hits and striking out two.  

Rainy River will next play on Saturday, March 30 in the Irishdome in Rosemount, Minnesota.
