Two standouts in women's basketball have earned Player-of-the-Week honors in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference, as teams from around both the MCAC Southern & Northern Divisions complete their first month week of play for the 2018-19 season.

Freshman guard Bethany Baldwin was instrumental in pair of Hibbing Community College wins over NJCAA Division competition this past week, downing Bay College 74-61 and Gogebic, 90-48. Baldwin had 45 points over the two games, including a 4-for-8 performance from three-point land and a 16-of-31 shooting hand from the floor. She also grabbed 19 rebounds, had two assists and notched three steals for the weekend. The Cardinals and Baldwin will face Mesabi Range College on Tuesday, November 27, with tipoff scheduled for 5:30pm.

Mikayla Homola and her Anoka-Ramsey Community College teammates traveled to Arizona for a pair of games during the Thanksgiving holiday. Homola tallied 55 points across the two games, grabbed nine rebounds and notched nine steals. In a 86-80 loss to Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Homola led the Golden Rams with 31 points. Mikayla Homola and the Anoka-Ramsey Community College women's basketball team is back in action on Friday, November 30 when they host Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College at 5:30pm.

Notable Performances Around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference:
Rochester CTC dropped a 71-69 decision to Madison College but Alyssa Whitson and Arianna Owens each had 13 points for the Yellowjackets; Whitson also grabbed seven boards. Abby Bauer collected eight rebounds to lead RCTC in that category while also scoring 10 points and collecting five steals.
Anoka-Ramsey Community College spent the holiday weekend in Arizona, picking up a win against Arizona Western and dropping a contest to Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Southern Division POW Mikayla Homola scored 55 points combined in the two contests, including 31 against CGCC. Charo Nickens also had a big day against Chandler-Gilbert, grabbing 15 rebounds and scoring 25 points herself. She was a perfect 11-of-11 from the floor and had a steal and a blocked shot for the Golden Rams. Raiyne Adams had 16 points against Arizona Western.
Minnesota West CTC fell to Iowa Lakes Community College and the JV team of Mt. Marty this past week. LadyJay Emily Schroer scored 11 points against ILCC and contributed another 15 in the loss to Mt. Marty. Shorer had 15 boards in the game to lead her team in that category. Teammate Avery Van Roekel had 13 rebounds and 16 points against ILCC.
Vermilion Community College dropped a pair of games at the Lindquist Classic tournament, but Bailey Bassette scored 20 points against GCC and had 12 rebounds. Zarea Richards had 18 points against Gogebic. Terri Sutton had 13 boards and Alexis Hughes grabbed 11. In their game against Bay College, Bassette led Vermilion with five steals and 13 points.
Mesabi Range College saw Kaitlin Knutson come off the bench to score 14 points and had Haley Hansen snag 16 rebounds in a loss to Rainy River Community College in their only action this past week.
Northland Community & Technical College fell to NDSCS 72-63 last week, but Brooke Heggie hit for 24 points, three blocks and had six rebounds. Carly Mekash added 13 points and seven boards and Jozi Halvorson contributed 11 points.
St. Cloud Technical & Community College lost to Central Lakes College 67-48, but Abbie Wuertz had 18 points to lead the Cyclones while Rachel Vreeland had 12 points and three assists. Kiara Coops grabbed 11 rebounds to lead SCTCC in that category.
Central Lakes College picked up a win at St. Cloud Technical & Community College, with Naomi Lane scoring 12 points and grabbing eight boards to lead the way. Liz Anderson and Paige Wallevand each had 11 points, while teammate Kelsie Weite dished out six assists.
Rainy River Community College had three players notch over 20 points in a 123-46 win over Mesabi Range. Daeja Monroe (31), Perrisha Cox (24) and Andrisia Sweeting (22) all had strong scoring outings, with Jeri Richard leading RRCC in rebounds with 11 and Faitress Shaw notching five assists and five steals, along with 15 points.
Hibbing Community College won two games on the road in tournament play, downing both Bay College (74-61) and Gogegic (90-48). Northern Division POW Bethany Baldwin chipped in 45 points over the two games, as well as 19 boards and two assists. Hannah Morris had 18 points against Bay College and ten rebounds against GCC and Sherae' Cherenfant notched 13 points and five steals in the contest against Gogebic.
M State-Fergus Falls traveld to Twin Falls, Idaho for a pair of games agaist College of Southern Idaho and Treasure Valley CC. Sydney Hovland had 16 points against TVCC while Olivia Winfrey had five rebounds in the Southern Idaho contest. Megan Dreger also had 11 points and seven boards for M State.
Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College, Lake Superior College, Western Technical College, Ridgewater College and Itasca Community College were all idle this past week.
