MCAC Women's Basketball Players-of-the-Week

Teams from around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference entered the middle of January with an eye towards the NJCAA post-season as several impactful contests took place last week around the state.  The top performers in those MCAC contests have earned MCAC Player-of-the-Week in their respective Divisions for the week ending Sunday, January 13. 

 

MCAC Northern Division 

Player-of-the-Week

Terri Sutton

Soph. / Center

Terri Sutton, a freshman center at Vermilion Community College, has earned the Northern Division Player-of-the-Week for her role in leading VCC to a 1-1 week in Conference play. 

Sutton scored 26 points in a 76-36 win over FDLTCC and hit for another 21 in a 65-48 loss to Mesabi Range College.  Combined for the two contests, the St. Paul, Minnesota product hauled in an amazing 33 rebounds, including 20 boards against MRC.  She also averaged 4.5 steals per game for the week.

Vermilion improved to 2-2 in the MCAC and will face both Central Lakes College and Hibbing Community College in Northern Division action this week. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MCAC Southern Division 

Player-of-the-Week


  Mikayla Homola

Soph. / Guard

Blaine, MN

Mikayla Homola has earned the MCAC Southern Division Player-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday, January 13. 

Mikayla Homola scored 60 points across two contests as Anoka-Ramsey moved to 2-0 in the MCAC Southern Division.  Homola was 15-of-17 from the foul line and hit 18-of-51 attempts from the field en route to her 60-point week.  The sophomore from Blaine also averaged five steals a contest and grabbed eight total rebounds as ARCC dispatched SCTCC 91-47 and MnWest, 67-57. 

Homola and the Golden Rams will take on M State-Fergus Falls and Rochester Community & Technical College this week in MCAC Southern Division action.
