MCAC Women's Basketball: Athletes-of-the-Week

Divisional races and post-season aspirations ticked up a notch this past week as women's basketball squads from around the Minnesota College Athletic Conference fight for post-season spots. In those match-ups, a handfull of student-athletes stood out from the rest and have picked up Athlete-of-the-Week honors for their efforts. 

Adidas, the United States Marine Corps and Nicklasson Athletic Company sponsor the MCAC Athlete-of-the-Week awards, and proudly honor the following student-athletes for their performances this past week on behalf of their teams.

Terri Sutton

Soph./Guard

St. Paul, MN

 

The Performance:  Sophomore standout Terri Sutton helped lead Vermilion Community College women's basketball team to a 1-1 week with a dominating offensive performance. 

Sutton led Vermilion with an impressive 79 points for the week, shooting 32-of-58 from the floor. She also swiped 16 steals and was 10-of-11 from the free throw line. She averaged five rebounds a contest. 

Vermilion travels to Mesabi Range College on Wednesday, January 29th for a 5:30pm contest.

Kaitlyn Rindfleisch

The Performance:  Freshman post Kaitlyn Rindfleish had a pair of double-double outings for Ridgewater College this past week. 

The freshman from Jeffers, Minnesota scored 33 points while hauling in an impressive 24 rebounds for the Warriors. Rindfleish shot 50% from the floor and dished out four assist on the week. 

Rindfleish led Ridgewater to a 79-58 win over Riverland Community College.
