On Sunday, March 1, four women's basketball teams from the Minnesota College Athletic Conference will battle for two tickets to the 2019-20 NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships.
In addition, the top student-athletes from across both MCAC Divisions have been recognized in the 2019-20 MCAC Women's Basketball All-State teams.
Top seeded Northland Community & Technical College will face Hibbing Community College on the Pioneers home court in Thief River Falls at 2pm, Sunday March 1. Northland advanced to the NJCAA Region XIIIB Championship with a 74-52 win over No. 4 Central Lakes College.
Hibbing Community College ended Rainy River hopes for a NJCAA Region XIIIB championship opportunity with a 78-61 victory as the No. 3 seed pulls the upset and earns the right to defend their Region title from last season. The Cardinals advance to take on the Pioneers with the winner headed to the 2019-20 NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois. Competition dates are March 12-14.

Anoka-Ramsey Community College will take on Western Technical College in Coon Rapids, Minnesota for the 2019-20 Region XIIIA championship.
Western Technical defeated Minnesota West 54-49 on Saturday to advance. With the win, the Cavaliers have advanced to the Region championship in back-to-back years for the first time in program history. The Lady Jays end their season at 14-12 overall. MCAC All-State selection Lexie Ramsey led the way for MnWest with 18 points, including a 5-for-5 effort from the foul line. Western Tech was paced by Makenna Gabel with 12 points.
