#16 RCTC Rolls to MCAC & Region 13 Crown

On Sunday, February 12th the five Minnesota College Athletic Conference wrestling programs converged on the campus of Northland Community & Technical College in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to compete for the NJCAA Region 13 North District crown. The one-day event was a showcase for the MCAC wrestling community, with over 30 athletes across 10 weight classes taking part in the competition.


The Yellowjackets of 16th ranked RCTC earned the team championship with a point total of 110.5 and an impressive 8 weight class champions. On the strength of two weight division champions, host institution Northland finished 2nd, accumulating 71.5 points on the day. Itasca Com-munity College edged out Ridgewater College for third place, with ICC picking up 36.5 points to Ridgewater's 34 point total. Minnesota West finished in 5th place, with 8 total points, with a 2nd place finish in the 141 pound division.


On the season, the dual meet champions and runner up finishes reflected the North District meet finishes, with Rochester running the table in undefeated fashion over their four MCAC opponents, and Northland finishing in second place, with victories over all MCAC foes except RCTC.
