Siewert Earns Season-Opening Wrestler-of-the-Week

Rochester, MN-

Shane Siewert, a wrestler at Rochester Community & Technical College from Lake City, MN, has earned the first MCAC Wrestler-of-the-Week honor for the 2018-19 season.

Competing in the 174 lb. weight division, the RCTC sophomore went 3-1 this past weekend at the Yellowjacket Open, a season-kickoff event for several four-year and two-year college wrestling programs.  His 3-1 effort was good for second place in his division, and his success included a win over 2017 NJCAA All-American Bunmi Smith of Iowa Lakes Community College.

Siewert and Rochester Community & Technical College will next compete at the Luther Open, in Decorah, Iowa on Satuday, November 10.
