Rochester Community & Technical College - currently ranked #13 in the country in NJCAA wrestling - is coming off a strong performance at the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Dual Championships last week in Louisville, Kentucky and look to be the frontrunner for tomorrow's event.  Several Yellowjackets are listed in the top individual rankings found on InterMat, including Auston Hall, 8th in the 141 lb. Division; Alex Lloyd who is 5th at 149 lbs.; Seth Brossard, 7th at 165 lbs;  Richie Hammonds, 8th at 197 lbs. and heavyweight, Jon Noll, who is 10th in that category. RCTC and long-time head coach Randy Rager finished 2nd overall at the NWCA Duals, with Nassau Community College taking top honors.

The Pioneers of Northland Community & Technical College, also competed this past week in Louisville, and head coach Scott DCamp will be looking to build off of that team effort.   NCTC finished sixth overall at the NWCA event, For a re-cap of the Northland performance, click here for results against Rowan-Gloucester and Joliet Junior College. Day one results from the Pioneer matches against Niagara Community College are found here.

Itasca Community College, under first-year head coach Joe Umlauf have faced off with several two-year and four-year colleges already this season, including a Battle of the North dual event against MCAC foe Northland.  The Vikings look to bring a squad of 16 athletes to Rochester, with a balance of in-state talent as well as athletes from Hawaii, Arizona and Washington D.C.  Itasca is led by team captains Jace Geving (Deer River, MN / 125#), Jamall Baird (Deer River, MN / 133#), Brady Gross (Blackduck, MN / 174#) and Dalton Bernett (Viroqua, WI / 174#).

Minnesota West CTC also features a first-year head coach in Randy Baker; the longtime mentor took over the Blue Jay wrestling progam this past fall.  MnWest features seven Minnesota products on their 15-man roster, as well as a strong out-of-state contingent ranging from Georgia, Louisana, Arizona and Iowa.  The Blue Jays also took part in the NWCA Dual Championships last week.

Ridgewater College rounds out the MCAC Dual Championship participants, as head coach Jair Toedter brings his Warrior squad to Rochester.  Ridgewater competed in the Concordia Open and Dragon Open in Moorhead, Minnesota prior to the semester break; the Warriors also wrestled at the Augsburg Invite.  Ridgewater lists eight student-athletes on their 2019-20 roster and the Ridgewater program has produced four national championship wrestlers over the years and saw Mark Voss earn All-America honors in 2018.  Warrior alumni Zach Revier and Chris Schmidt both were tabbed All-America in 2016.
