St. Cloud the Site for MCAC Volleyball Action

Several volleyball teams in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) kick-off their 2019 regular season on Friday, August 23 and Saturday August 24, as they take part in the MCAC Crossover Tournament

Hosted by St. Cloud Technical & Community College, the courts of the Whitney Center will be active all day as ten teams look to get off to a strong start for the year.  Three MCAC programs received a nod from the NJCAA Division III Volleyball national rankings committee, as Rochester Community & Technical College, Central Lakes College and Minnesota State-Fergus Falls all were named to the pre-season NJCAA Division III Top Ten. Click here or go to the following link for the full pre-season rankings release: http://njcaa.org/sports/wvball/2019-20/div3/polls

'18 Record: 26-7 Overall, 4th Place in NJCAA Championships

Notable in '19: Raiders are #3 in the NJCAA Division III Pre-Season poll under veteran coach, Jane Peterson.

'18 Record: 24-9 Overall, 3rd Place in NJCAA Championships

Notable in '19: Yellowjacket returning All-America selection Carrie Rutledge was named as an AVCA Player-to-Watch within the NJCAA ranks this pre-season on a team ranked #4 nationally.

'18 Record: 19-8 Overall, NJCAA Regional Finalist

Notable in '19: The Spartans are ranked #9 in in NJCAA Division III Pre-Season poll; head coach Abby Crowser earned NCAA All-America honors while competing at Concordia College-Moorhead as a senior.

'18 Record: 11-12 Overall, NJCAA Region Tournament qualifier

Notable in '19: The Cyclones will feature nine sophomores and six freshman this season; SCTCC will also compete at the College of DuPage Invitational later this month.

Notable in '19: Abdul Chamma fills in for Courtney Nordby, who is on maternity leave this fall; Chamma coached NCTC from 2011 through 2018.

'18 Record: 13-13 Overall, NJCAA Region Tournament qualifier

Notable in '19: Smith takes over the Warrior program this fall; she earned NJCAA All-America honors while competing at Central Lakes College, helping lead her team to a fourth-place finish at Nationals.

'18 Record: 8-18 Overall, 4-8 MCAC North

Notable in '19: Millerbernd has been leading the RRCC program since 1989 and also serves as the  Athletic Director for the Voyageurs.

Notable in '19: McNab returns to the LadyJay program where she once played; she earned NJCAA All-America honors as a student-athlete at MnWest.
