MCAC Softball Athletes of the Week:  Week of March 7-13

Rochester, MN –

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference has announced its MCAC Softball Pitchers and Players-of-the-Week for the week of March 7-13.  Central Lakes College athletes claim both the pitcher and player of the week awards for the MCAC North.  With limited action last week, there were no nominations for the MCAC South awards. 

Marissa Callahan, freshman pitcher at Central Lakes College appeared in one game last week and gave up three runs in her six innings of work, striking out five batters. She picks up the MCAC North Pitcher-of-the-Week award. 

Callahan's teammate, Cassidy Zontelli, is this week's MCAC North Player-of-the-Week. Zontelli had two putouts and 3 assists in the field for a perfect fielding percentage.

North Division 

Pitcher- and Player-of-the-Week

Marissa Callahan

Freshman / RHP

Browerville, MN

 

 

Marissa Callahan, freshman pitcher at Central Lakes College, started one game last week and gave up only three runs on one hit and struck out 5 batters in her 6 innings of action. The Browerville, MN native earns the MCAC North Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week award. 

The Raiders are 2-5 on the season, and they take the field again on Friday, March 25 at the Minnesota Classic in Blaine, MN. 

 

 

 

Cassidy Zontelli

Sophomore / SS

Brainerd, MN

 


Cassidy Zontelli, short stop from Brainerd, MN earns the MCAC North Player-of-the-Week award. The Central Lakes College sophomore had two putouts and 3 assists in her 5 opportunities in the field last week, compiling a perfect fielding percentage. 

The Raiders are now 2-5 on the season and take the field again on Friday, March 25 at the Minnesota Classic in Blaine, MN.
