MCAC Football Athletes of the Week:  Week of October 3 - 9

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly football athletes of the week awards for the week of October 3 - 9.  

Minnesota State Community & Technical College running back, Rondarius Gregory, earned another Offensive Player-of-the-Week honor with his 220 yard rushing performance on Saturday.  He also crossed the goal line 4 times in his 26 carries to help his team to another victory.  This is the fourth straight week and the fifth time this season he has won the award.  Aundreus Griffin, wide receiver for Minnesota North - Mesabi Range, earned the other Offensive Player-of-the-Week award after catching 10 passes for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns against #1 raned Minnesota State - Fergus Falls.

Sylvester Ware, bandit for Rochester Community & Technical College, had 8 tackles with 1 of them for a loss of yardage, 4 sacks, and three quarterback hurries to earn a Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor.  Minnesota West Community & Technical College linebacker, Ke'untay Felton, earned the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. He had 6 tackles, 2.5 of them for a loss of yardage, 1.5 sacks, and two passes break-ups in the BlueJays 14-3 win over Dakota State University JV.

Carson McKnight, kicker and punter for Minnesota State Community & Technical College, picks up the week's Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award, his third of the season.  McKnight kicked a 43 yard field goal and had 6 kickoffs for 340 total yards and 4 touchbacks.  

Each week throughout the 2022 season, two offensive, two defensive, and a special teams athlete will be named players-of-the-week, based on nominations submitted by MCAC member football programs.

Noteworthy Information:  Aundreus averaged 16.4 yards per catch in the team's narrow loss to #1 Minnesota State - Fergus Falls.
