MCAC Football Athletes of the Week:  Week of October 10 - 16

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly football athletes of the week awards for the week of October 10 - 16.  

Minnesota State Community & Technical College quarterback, KJ Cooper, earned the Offensive Player-of-the-Week honor. Cooper completed 12 of 23 passes for 204 yards and 3 touchdowns to keep M State undefeated through the regular season and clinch the MCAC Championship. 

De'Vonta' Roberts, defensive back for Rochester Community & Technical College, had 3 interceptions, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 4 tackles in the Yellowjackets 17-8 win over Vermilion on Saturday and earns a Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor.  Defensive lineman, Nicholas Korom, earned the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award as he had 5 tackles, 3 sacks, 4 tackles for a loss of yardage and 2 forced fumbles for Central Lakes College. Central Lakes defeated St. John's University JV 14-7.

Denzel Miller, punt returner for Minnesota State Community & Technical College, picks up the week's Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award.  Miller returned three punts for 107 yards and a touchdown.  His touchdown went for 84 yards.  

Each week throughout the 2022 season, two offensive, two defensive, and a special teams athlete will be named players-of-the-week, based on nominations submitted by MCAC member football programs.
