MCAC Soccer Athletes of the Week: Week of October 17 - 23

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of October 17 - 23. 

Rochester Community & Technical College goalkeeper, Jordan Weber, has been named the MCAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week. Posting her 8th shutout of the season, Weber had 2 saves in the Yellowjackets 6-0 win over Lake Superior College to win the NJCAA Region 13 Women's Soccer Championship on Saturday.  Rochester Community & Technical College center back, Amy Gonzalez, earned the MCAC Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Gonzalez captained a defense that did not give up a goal in the championship game.  Mackenzie Polson picked up the week's MCAC Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award after scoring 3 goals in her 5 shots on goal.  This hat-trick was her second one of the season. 

Pedro Marinho Brandao de Almeida picks up his second straight MCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week honor. The freshman forward for Riverland Community College scored 3 goals in his 6 shots on goal to help the Blue Devils advance to the Region 13 Championship. Almeida leads the MCAC in goals and points this season.
