MCAC Softball Athletes of the Week:  Week of February 27 - March 5

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its softball weekly awards for the week of February 27 - March 5.

There were no nominations this week for the MCAC North Division Softball Pitcher of the Week or the MCAC North Division Softball Position Player of the Week awards.   

Molly Gross, Anoka-Ramsey Community College right-handed pitcher, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Softball Pitcher of the Week. In 7 innings of work, Gross gave up only one unearned run on 4 hits, and she struck out 10, to pick up her first win of the season.  She also went 2 for 5 from the plate with 2 RBI in a 4-1 win over Dakota County Technical College.  St. Cloud Technical & Comunity College catcher, Rainna Stangle, went 8 for 14 from the plate with a home run and 2 doubles during the week. Her .571 batting average and 7 RBI, 4 walks, and 9 runs helped her Cyclones go 4-2 to start their spring break trip in Florida and pick up this week's MCAC South Division Softball Position Player of the Week honor.
