MCAC Softball Athletes of the Week:  Week of March 20-26

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its softball weekly awards for the week of March 20 - 26.

Jill Thompson, right-handed pitcher for Central Lakes College, has been named the MCAC North Division Softball Pitcher of the Week.  Thompson went 7 innings in her one appearance and struck out 6, giving up only 3 earned runs in the Raiders win.   Marissa Callahan, infielder for Central Lakes College, earned this week's MCAC North Division Softball Position Player of the Week award.  Callahan went 7 for 9 from the plate, hitting .778, with 2 home runs and 5 RBI while scoring 3 runs.  

Molly Gross, right-handed pitcher for Anoka-Ramsey Community College, earned this week's MCAC South Division Softball Pitcher of the Week award. Going 2-1 during the week in her 3 starts, Gross threw 19 innings without an earned run and gave up only 4 hits during that stretch.  She struck out 35 batters and only walked 3.  St. Cloud Technical & Community College catcher/3B, Rainna Stangle, went 12 for 20 from the plate, hitting .600 with 4 doubles and 4 home runs.  Stangle had 9 RBI and scored 12 runs while not committing an error in her 6 games, and she earns the week's MCAC South Division Softball Position Player of the Week award.
