MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of March 27 - April 2

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of March 27 - April 2.

Hunter Vikemyr, right-handed pitcher for Riverland Community College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season.  Vikemyr went 2-0 in his two starts, pitching 8 scoreless innings and giving up only 3 hits.  He struck out 17 and walked 7.  There were no nominations for this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.

There were no nominations for the MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week or MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week awards. 

Avery Liestman, right-handed pitcher for Minnesota North College - Itasca, has earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Liestman threw a complete game shutout, giving up two hits and striking out 9.  Liestman also had a double and a RBI in his 8 plate appearances.  Minnesota North College - Rainy River outfielder, Ethan Bergen, went 8 for 15 from the plate, hitting .533 with a double, 4 RBI and a stolen base.  Bergen scored the winning run on a close play at home in a 9-8 win over Western Tech and earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
