MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of April 24-30

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of April 24-30.

Riverland Community College right-handed pitcher, Asahi Sato, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Sato went 2-0 in his two starts during the week, allowing only one run through 14 innings.  He struck out 20 and gave up only 3 hits and 3 walks.  Century College first baseman and outfielder, Nick Ibrahim, went 13 for 24 from the plate, hitting .542 with a double and two home runs. Ibrahim scored 7 runs and had 12 RBI and three stolen bases on the week to earn this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor.

St. Cloud Technical & Community College right-handed pitcher, Christian Lessman, earned the MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. Lessman was 2-0 in his two starts, giving up only 3 runs, 1 earned run, 5 hits, and striking out 24 in his 12 innings of work. Jake Contreras, third baseman for Anoka-Ramsey Community College, earned the week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.  Contreras went 9 for 15 from the plate, hitting .600, with two home runs, a double, 5 RBI, and 8 runs scored.

Jacob Mickelson, right-handed pitcher for Minnesota North College - Vermilion, has earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. In his one start, which was five innings, Mickelson threw a one-hit shutout, striking out one and walking two.  Minnesota North College - Itasca shortstop, Geremy Mattis, hit .518, going 14 for 27 from the plate with two home runs and 3 doubles. Mattis had 11 RBI, scored 7 runs, and stole 5 bases to earn the week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award.
