MCAC Softball Athletes of the Week: Week of May 1-7

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its softball weekly awards for the week of May 1-7.

Jill Thompson, right-handed pitcher for Central Lakes College, has been named the MCAC North Division Softball Pitcher of the Week. Thompson had three starts during the week and went 1-0 in 11 innings of work. She struck out 11 and gave up only 1 walk and 3 earned runs for a weekly ERA of 1.9.   Central Lakes College catcher/infielder, Gabrielle Dulas, earned this week's MCAC North Division Softball Position Player of the Week award.  Dulas was 6 for 13 from the plate with a .461 batting average. She hit 3 home runs and scored 5 runs while driving in 7 and stealing a base.    

Molly Gross, right-handed pitcher for Anoka Ramsey Community College, has earned the MCAC South Division Softball Pitcher of the Week award. Gross went 3-0 in 17 innings of work, giving up only one earned run while striking out 28 and walking only one. She added a .480 average, 11 RBI, 6 runs, and 12 hits to her offensive stats as well.  Lyla Galli, Anoka-Ramsey Community College third baseman, was 17 for 22 from the plate, smacking a .773 batting average, and scoring 13 runs. Galli hit six doubles, two triples, and two home runs while driving in 18 runs to earn the MCAC South Division Softball Position Player of the Week honor.
