MCAC Football Athletes of the Week: Week of September 4 - 10

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly football athletes of the week awards for the week of September 4-10.  

North Dakota State College of Science running back, Roosevelt Cage, rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries to earn an Offensive Player-of-the-Week award. Cage averaged 5.83 yards per carry in the Wildcats win over #3 Minnesota State Community and Technical College. Rochester Community and Technical College tight end/wide receiver, Brady Walsh, had four receptions for 64 yards and two touchdowns in the Yellowjackets win over Central Lakes College to earn the other Offensive Player-of-the-Week award.    

Central Lakes College safety, Mason Rudolph, had seven solo tackles and nine total tackles, along with a pass breakup, to earn a Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Rochester Community and Technical College defensive tackle, Seth Thomas, earned the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Thomas had five total tackles and three sacks for the Yellowjackets.

North Dakota State College of Science kicker, Sam Burkel, earned the first Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award for 2023. In four kickoffs, Burkel totaled 235 yards, an average of 58.8 yards per kick, and one touchback.
