MCAC Football Athletes of the Week: Week of September 11 - 17

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly football athletes of the week awards for the week of September 11-17.  

Central Lakes College running back, David Collins, rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries to earn an Offensive Player-of-the-Week award. Collins averaged 6.04 yards per carry in the Raiders' 27-13 win over Minnesota West Community and Technical College. Rochester Community and Technical College quarterback, Devin Watson, was 14 for 27 and threw for 253 yards with two touchdowns in the Yellowjackets 37-21 win over #5 Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range. Watson also caught a pass for 13 yards and a touchdown to earn the other Offensive Player-of-the-Week award.    

Central Lakes College linebacker, Ashton Hanan, had five solo tackles and seven total tackles, a sack, and 2.5 tackles for a loss to earn a Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. North Dakota State College of Science outside linebacker, Erik Lumpkin, earned the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Lumpkin had ten total tackles, five of them solo, and two sacks for the Wildcats in their 7-point loss to #1 College of DuPage.

North Dakota State College of Science kicker, Alexander Henry, earned the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award after going 4 for 4 on extra point attempts and kicking a 30-yard field goal. Henry scored seven points in the Wildcats 38-31 loss against #1 College of DuPage.
