Region 13 Soccer Championship Games Kick Off this Weekend

The 2023 NJCAA Region 13 Women's and Men's Soccer Championships will be played on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The women's game will be hosted by Rochester Community and Technical College, while the men's game will be hosted by Riverland Community College.

With their 9-1-2 overall record and 6-0 MCAC record, Rochester Community and Technical College is the #1 seed in the women's tournament and looks to defend their Region 13 championship title earned last year. The Yellowjackets moved into the championship game with an 8-1 win over Lake Superior College and will take the pitch against Anoka-Ramsey Community College.  The Golden Rams, who are the #2 seed in the tournament and advanced to the championship game on penalty kicks following double-overtime against Alexandria Technical and Community College, bring an overall record of 2-3-2 and an MCAC record of 2-3-1 into the finals. The Region 13 Championship Game will kick off at Noon on Rochester Community and Technical College's campus.

Riverland Community College entered the Region 13 Men's Tournament as the #2 seed with a 7-7-3 overall record and a 4-3-1 record in the MCAC. With a 4-1 win on Thursday evening over Alexandria Technical & Community College, the Blue Devils advance to the championship game and will host after top-seeded Minnesota West lost to Anoka-Ramsey Community College. The Golden Rams, as the tournament's #4 seed, upset the Blue Jays 2-1 in double overtime. Anoka-Ramsey has a 5-7-1 overall and 3-4-1 MCAC record entering the championship game, which will be played in Austin, MN, at 1:00 PM.
