MCAC Football Athletes of the Week: Week of October 16-22

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its football athlete-of-the-week awards for the week of October 16-22.  

Anthony Lewis-Royal, running back for Central Lakes College, rushed for 96 yards on 17 carries, caught two passes for 24 yards, and scored on a two-point conversion in the Raiders' win over #5 Minnesota State Community and Technical College, to earn him an Offensive Player-of-the-Week award. There were no additional nominations for the second Offensive Player-of-the-Week award.    

Ashton Hanan, linebacker for Central Lakes College, had 12 tackles, seven of them solo, a tackle for loss, a fumble recovery, and a blocked punt to earn a Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. North Dakota State College of Science defensive end, Jaylin Nieman-Burnett, earned the other Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Nieman-Burnett had seven total tackles, three of them solo, two tackles for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble in the Wildcats win over Minnesota West Community and Technical College.  

North Dakota State College of Science kicker, Alex Henry, earned the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award. Henry was perfect on his extra point attempts, going 6-for-6, in the Wildcats 45-14 win.
