MCAC Soccer Athletes of the Week: Week of October 16-22

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of October 16-22.

Rochester Community and Technical College's goalkeeper, Tayea Popillion, earned the MCAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week award after saving 4 shots while giving up only one goal in 180 minutes of action through two Region 13 Championship Tournament games. Rochester Community and Technical College defender, Jackie Reyna, led the Yellowjackets defense to a Region 13 title as they gave up only one goal in the two games. Reyna earned the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award for her defensive efforts. Mya Hermann, midfielder for RCTC, scored three goals and had two assists in the NJCAA Region 13 semifinal win over Lake Superior College to earn the week's Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award.

Camden Williams, goalkeeper for Riverland Community College, earned the MCAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week honor by saving nine shots on 11 attempts in 180 minutes of action in the net through two NJCAA Region 13 Championship Tournament games. Riverland Community College midfielder, Ntsako Baloyi, was named the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week after scoring three goals, including the championship game-winner, and assisting on another, while leading a stout defensive effort that gave up only two goals en route to winning the team's first-ever Region 13 title. Bol Bayak, forward for Riverland Community College, earned the Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week honor after scoring two goals in his four shots on goal in the NJCAA Region 13 semifinals and then assisting on both goals in the championship game to lead the Blue Devils offense to the region title and a berth in the NJCAA Midwest District Championship Game.
