Riverland wins Region 13 Men's Soccer Title; Hosts Midwest District Championship

In an overtime thriller, Riverland Community College defeated Anoka-Ramsey Community College on Sunday to claim their first NJCAA Region 13 Men's Soccer title. The Blue Devils will now host the NJCAA Midwest District Championship Game on Saturday, October 28, at 1:00 PM in Austin, MN. They will take on Harper College, with the winner advancing to the NJCAA National Tournament.

With the score tied 1-1 heading into overtime, Riverland's Ntsako Baloyi scored the game-winner on a pass from Bol Bayak, ending Anoka-Ramsey's season and hopes of retaining the Region 13 title. Riverland brings an 8-7-3 overall record into the Midwest Districts, while Anoka-Ramsey concludes their season at 5-8-1.

Harper College, Riverland's next opponent, won the Region 4 Tournament on penalty kicks following double-overtime, defeating Joliet Junior College and advancing to district play. 

The 2023 NJCAA Men's Soccer National Tournament will be held in Gastonia, NC on November 7-12, 2023.
