RCTC Women's Soccer Repeats as Region 13 Champions; Hosts Midwest District Tournament

Rochester, MN

Rochester Community & Technical College defeated Anoka-Ramsey Community College 4-0 on Saturday to win the 2023 Region 13 Women's Soccer championship. Playing through a stiff wind, Mackenzie Polson scored two goals, and Madison Harden and Emily Morales each added one to help the Yellowjackets advance to the NJCAA Midwest District Tournament. RCTC will host the tournament on October 28 and 29 at the Sports Stadium in Rochester, MN.

With an injury-depleted roster, Anoka-Ramsey could not muster enough offense to stay with the Yellowjackets, but as the runner-up in Region 13, the Golden Rams also will advance to the NJCAA Midwest District Tournament. They bring a 2-4-2 record into the district game and will take on #4 Joliet Junior College, the NJCAA Region 4 champions, at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

RCTC, ranked #8 in the national poll, moved their record to 10-1-2 and will host #1 Delta College, the NJCAA Region 12 champion, at Noon on Saturday. The winners of each game on Saturday advance to the championship game on Sunday at Noon, with the winner moving on to the NJCAA Women's Soccer National Tournament in Gastonia, NC, on November 7-12, 2023.
