2023 MCAC/Region 13 Football Championship Game Information

Following a successful regular season, the MCAC/Region 13 Championship Football Game returns to St. Cloud State University Husky Stadium on Sunday, November 5, 2023, with a 1:00 PM kickoff. The highly anticipated game features two of the top teams in the nation, with #2 Rochester Community & Technical College (RCTC) squaring off against #3 North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS).  The winner will likely be playing in the NJCAA DIII Football National Championship Game (Red Grange Bowl) in Glen Ellyn, IL, on December 2.

As the top seed in this season's MCAC Playoffs and the #2 NJCAA DIII ranked team in the nation, Rochester Community and Technical College brings a 7-2 overall and 5-1 MCAC record into the championship game. The Yellowjackets won the MCAC regular season, and they average 33.0 points per game. Their dynamic offense is averaging 387.2 yards per game, with 230.9 yards passing per game and 156.3 yards rushing per game. RCTC's defense has compiled 559 tackles and 13 interceptions while sacking opponents' quarterbacks 38 times.

With their only conference loss of the season coming in a 28-27 defeat by RCTC, NDSCS has expectations to return to the national championship by avenging their earlier loss to the Yellowjackets. The Wildcats, at 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the MCAC, bring comparable offensive stats into Sunday's contest. Averaging 31.8 points per game and 364.4 yards per game, the Wildcats have shown success running the ball. They lead the MCAC in rushing yards per game with 217.6. Defensively, the Wildcats lead the MCAC in tackles with 631 and have intercepted 15 passes this season.
