All-Region 13 Football Team Announced; Mosley and Williams Named Players of the Year

Rochester, MN -

NJCAA Region 13 has announced its All-Region 13 Football Team for the 2023 season, and 24 student-athletes competing at MCAC member colleges have been named to the team.

Rochester Community & Technical College, winners of the Region 13 Championship, had six players make the distinguished team, and North Dakota State College of Science saw five players earn the region honor. Central Lakes College, Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range, and Minnesota West Community & Technical College each placed three players on the team, while Minnesota North College - Vermilion and Minnesota State Community & Technical College had two selections apiece.

Johnathan Mosley, quarterback for Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range, was named the Region 13 Offensive Player-of-the-Year, and Rochester Community & Technical College linebacker, Martell Williams, was named the Region 13 Defensive Player-of-the-Year. Rochester Community & Technical College head coach, Terrence Isaac, was named the Region 13 Coach of the Year.

Mosley, a sophomore from Stuart, FL, completed 124 of his 184 passes for a 67.0% completion percentage, throwing for 1174 yards and 16 touchdowns. Mosley also ran the ball 92 times for 287 yards and 7 touchdowns. He averaged 130.4 yards per game passing and 31.9 yards per game rushing. Mosley led the MCAC in completions, completion percentage, and touchdowns this season, and he helped the Norse team to a 5-4 overall record, qualifying for the semifinals of the MCAC Playoffs.

Williams, a Proviso, IL sophomore linebacker for the Yellowjackets, had 98 tackles in 10 games, with 53 solo and 45 assisted tackles, and he picked up 9 sacks on the season. Williams had 22.5 tackles for a loss of yardage, forced four fumbles, recovered three fumbles, and had an interception and pass breakup. Williams led the nation in tackles per game with 9.8 and sacks. He led the MCAC in tackles, tackles per game, fumble recoveries, and fumble recoveries for a touchdown. Rochester Community & Technical College won the MCAC regular season and NJCAA Region 13 titles, going 8-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

Isaac, in his 2nd year as the head coach of Rochester Community & Technical College, led his team to a 5-1 regular season record and was perfect in the MCAC playoffs, winning both the MCAC regular season and Region 13 titles. The 24-16 win over North Dakota State College of Science in the Region 13 Championship Game likely secured Isaac's Yellowjackets a spot in the NJCAA DIII National Championship Game on December 2 at College of Dupage.

The head coaches from the seven MCAC football member colleges nominated and selected the All-Region 13 Football Team.
