#2 RCTC Will Take On #1 DuPage in NJCAA DIII Football Title Game

The #2 ranked Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) Yellowjackets will take on the #1 ranked College of DuPage (COD) Chaparrals for the NJCAA Division III National Football Championship Title on December 2nd in Glen Ellyn, IL.  RCTC finished the season 8-2 and were champions of the MCAC Playoffs to secure their bid in the title game.  COD finished with an overall record of 10-1 to earn their spot.  The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

RCTC lost two games on the season, including a 24-21 defeat at the hands of COD on September 2nd in Rochester.  In that game, the Jackets held a 502 to 297 yard advantage in total offense.  RCTC's Devin Watson threw for 327 yards with a pair of TD's in the game.  The Jackets were led on the ground by Christian Parrish with 18 carries for 135 yards and a score.  COD had 171 yards passing with two TD passes and rushed for 126 yards.  The Jackets Hudson Dayton led all receivers with 94 yards receiving in the game.

Defensively, the Jackets had four sacks, including 1.5 each for Martell Williams and Daniel Graham.  The Jackets Jahquii Roberts picked up an interception as well.  Keshawn Johnson had 14 tackles, while Williams had 13, and Mario Mendoza and Graham each had 12.

The two teams have one common opponent, as COD downed the MCAC runner-up NDSCS 38-31 on September 16th.  RCTC played NDSCS twice this year.  RCTC won at Wahpeton 28-27 during the regular season before winning the MCAC Championship in St. Cloud by the score of 24-16.
