MCAC Winter Sports Athletes of the Week: Week of November 27 - December 3

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports weekly awards for the week of November 27 - December 3.

Emma Osborn, shooting guard for Northland Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week.  Shooting 13 of 28 from the field and making 11 of 22 shots from behind the arc, Osborn scored 38 points for the Pioneers in her 56 minutes of action. She also added nine rebounds, three assists, and six steals during the week. Central Lakes College forward Jaiquavious Ackey scored 43 points and grabbed 32 rebounds in the Raiders' two wins and earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Ackey shot 57% from the field and also had five assists and six steals during his 67 minutes of playing time. 

Sophie Andring, shooting guard for Rochester Community and Technical College, scored the second most points in a game in program history and shot 59% from the field in two Yellowjacket wins to earn the week's MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week. Andring totaled 63 points in two games with 48 of them coming in a win over Minnesota North College - Itasca, while also collecting 10 rebounds, nine assists, eight steals, and a block. Jamison Lien, strong forward for Rochester Community & Technical College, earned this week's MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award. In 52 minutes of playing time, Lien scored 40 points and picked up 19 rebounds and three steals, leading the Yellowjackets to two conference wins. Lien shot 63% from the field and 100% from behind the 3-point arc during the week.
