RCTC Claims 2024 MCAC Wrestling Duals Championship

The 2024 MCAC Wrestling Team Duals were held on Sunday at Northland Community and Technical College, and Rochester Community and Technical College claimed the championship with a dominating performance over the other four MCAC teams. This is Rochester's third straight MCAC Duals Championship. 

RCTC went 4-0 at the tournament, defeating runner-up Minnesota North College - Itasca (3-1) in the second round, 27-18. Ridgewater College finished in third place at 2-2, followed by Minnesota West in fourth place at 1-3, and Northland in fifth place at 0-4.

This MCAC Duals Tournament helps seed the NJCAA Region 13 athletes for the North Plains District Tournament, which serves as the national championship qualifying tournament. The 2024 North Plains District Tournament will be held at RCTC on February 18.

  • 1st Place - Rochester
  • 2nd Place - Itasca
  • 3rd Place - Ridgewater
  • 4th Place - Minnesota West
  • 5th Place – Northland

 

Round 1:

  • Rochester defeated Minnesota West 55-0.
  • Itasca defeated Ridgewater 33-19.
  • Northland received a bye

Round 2:

  • Rochester defeated Itasca 27-18.
  • Minnesota West defeated Northland 42-18.
  • Ridgewater received a bye

Round 3:

  • Rochester defeated Northland 49-6.
  • Ridgewater defeated Minnesota West 39-18.
  • Itasca received a bye

Round 4:

  • Ridgewater defeated Northland 41-6.
  • Itasca defeated Minnesota West 57-0.
  • Rochester received a bye

Round 5:

  • Rochester defeated Ridgewater 42-9.
  • Itasca defeated Northland 53-6.
  • Minnesota West received a bye
