MCAC Winter Sports Athletes of the Week: Week of February 5-11

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports weekly awards for the week of February 5-11.

Emma Osborn, shooting guard for Northland Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week after hitting 14 three-point shots and breaking the school records for made 3's in a single game, in a season, and in a career.  Osborn scored 48 points during her two games, shooting 44.4% from the field and 48.3% from behind the three-point arc, and grabbed nine rebounds, six steals, and an assist as the Pioneers picked up two more wins. Central Lakes College forward Jaiquavious Ackey scored 41 points and shot 67.9% from the field, helping his Raiders team to two wins during the week. Ackey also grabbed 19 rebounds, had three assists, two steals, and two blocks in only 39 minutes of action to earn the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award.  

Kara Goetzinger, forward for Rochester Community and Technical College, completed her third straight game with a double-double, averaging 21 points and 16 rebounds through that stretch. Goetzinger shot 53.8% from the field, scoring 19 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, three assists, and a block to secure a win for the Yellowjackets' in their lone game of the week and earn the week's MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-WeekBelind Alemadi, guard for Minnesota State Community and Technical College, earned this week's MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award after scoring 57 points, shooting 51.1% from the field and 40% from behind the arc. Alemadi also picked up 19 rebounds, six assists, four steals, and two blocks in the Spartans' two games during the week.  Alemadi is averaging 13.0 points per game and is one point shy of scoring his 300th of the season.
