MCAC Softball Athletes of the Week: Week of April 22-28

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its softball weekly awards for the week of April 22-28.

Central Lakes College's right-handed pitcher, Emma Tautges, earned this week's MCAC North Division Softball Pitcher of the Week award after picking up two more wins in her two starts. Tautges threw 12 innings, giving up only two earned runs and striking out nine batters while walking only two. She compiled a weekly ERA of 1.167 and also hit .600 from the plate during the week. Katie Peck, catcher for Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range, earned this week's MCAC North Division Softball Position Player of the Week award.  Peck went 6 for 11 from the plate, hitting .545, with two doubles and two home runs. She drove in nine runs and scored 5 runs while walking twice and stealing two bases. She also had an on-base percentage of .625 and slugging percentage of 1.273.      

Jenna Boos, a left-handed pitcher for St. Cloud Technical and Community College, went 2-0 during the week, throwing two complete games in her three appearances and 13 innings of work. Boos gave up only two earned runs and 10 hits while striking out 18 batters and walking only five. For her work, Boos earned the MCAC South Division Pitcher of the Week award, her second of the season. Jada James, shortstop and outfielder for Rochester Community and Technical College, earned this week's MCAC South Division Softball Position Player of the Week honor after going 3 for 5 from the plate, hitting .600, with a triple and two home runs in her five plate appearances. James drove in four runs and scored twice to help the Yellowjackets remain in a tie with SCTCC atop the MCAC South Division.
