The inaugural season of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference clay target league has turned the corner on it's second week of competition.
Nine colleges embarked on the 2018 fall campaign, divided into two Eastern and Western Divisions. Colleges in the Eastern Division are comprised of teams with rosters between 15 and 35 student-athletes; Western Division schools have rosters ranging between six and 14 participants.
In the East, Lake Superior College checks in with a two-week score of 1186, just ahead of Southwest Wisconsin Technical College at 1070. Vermilion Community College (897), Hibbing Community College (674) and Itasca Community College (239) round out the current standings.
The Western Division is led by Pine Technical & Community College, clocking in with a two-week score of 163. Lake Region State College also has reached triple-digits at 105, with Minnesota West CTC and Northland CTC sitting in third and fourth place, respectively.

Individually, several student-athletes standout so far on the men's side in 2018, with Pine Technical & Community College leading the way in the West. Pine Technical's Ryan Kloetzer and Minnesota West's Zach Jahnz are tied atop the leaderboard with a 24.5 average. Third through seventh spots also belong to Pine Technical, with Jordan Pierce , Zane Focher , Nick Wegner Logan Rademacher and Brian Swedzinski producing a cluster of close scores between 24.3 and 22.8. Lake Region State's Nathan Lorenz and Spencer Frith have 22.8 and 22.0 averages, and the Top 10 is rounded out by another Pine Technical & Community College athlete, Ethan Christianson.
On the women's side in the Western Division, Northland CTC student-athlete Alyssa Kasprick checks in with a 22.8 average, just ahead of Minnesota West's Mackenzie Schultz at 21.0. Makayla VanSteenvoort of Lake Region State is currently in third place, and the leader board is rounded out by three more NCTC Pioneers; Tamara Rose Skinaway, Madison Deschene and Anne Prudhomme.
The Eastern Division is equally competitive in 2018, with the men's Top Ten tightly contested. Quintin Peasall of Southwest Wisconsin Technical College and Vermilion's Travis Loewen are tied in first place at a 24.5 season average mark. Lake Superior College's, Joe Latourelle and Garret Kreul share second place honors with a 24.3 score, and third place is also currently a tie, Lane Reinikainen (Lake Superior College) and Dalton Gardner (SWTC). Daniel Reilly (LSC), Josh Gher (SWTC), Chad Wills (Hibbing CC) and Thomas Hawkins round out the men's Top Ten in the East.
Vermilion Community College has had a big impact in the current women's standings, with three VCC student-athletes, Ashley Golly, Morgan Schubert, Elizabeth Hintze found at the 4th, 5th and 6th places for week two. The women are led by Lake Superior's Kallie Kimmes at 23.3, followed closely by Hannah Gray (Hibbing Community College) and Macallan Dostal (Itasca Community College). ICC's Jess Mauer, Bryenna Kuhn (SWTC), Erin Meyer (LSC) and Brooke Addison (SWTC) round out the women's Top Ten in the East.
