Two teams from the football ranks of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference have received bowl invitations following the conclusion of the MCAC playoffs this weekend.

Northland Community & Technical College, coming off their first-ever MCAC Football State Championship has accepted an invitation to the Graphic Edge Bowl, held at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls Iowa.   The nine-win Pioneers - with NJCAA's leading quarterback Shannon Patrick - will face three-win Ellsworth Community College in the 11am opening game played prior to the feature contest between #3 Iowa Western Community College and #5 Northwest Mississippi Community College.   The pair of games will be played on Sunday, December 3, 2017.  In 2016, Ellsworth defeated Rochester Community & Technical College, 55-32.    Hudl and Graphic Edge serve as corporate sponsors of the event; for more information, please visit: http://www.thegraphicedgebowl.com

Mesabi Range College, who played their way to the MCAC State Championship game by winning back-to-back road playoff contests, has accepted an invitation to the Red Grange Bowl, held at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.  The Norsemen (7-4) and first-year head coach Tom Inforzato will face the Chaparrals (6-3) in the second annual edition of the event, held to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities.  Kickoff is set for 1pm on Saturday, December, 2.  The Red Grange Bowl debuted in 2016, in which an overtime field goal by the Chaparrals proved the difference between 2016 MCAC champion Central Lakes College and COD in the 25-22 overtime contest.  For more information on the 2017 Red Grange Bowl, be sure to visit: http://www.collegeofdupagefootball.com/red-grange-bowl.html
