Anoka-Ramsey Claims Two All-America Spots in Soccer

Rochester, MN-

Soccer has been twice as nice for Anoka-Ramsey Community College throughout the fall season, as both the men's and women's soccer programs claimed regular season Minnesota College Athletic Conference titles and made a strong push in the NJCAA Region XIII soccer post-season.

The double theme continued this week with the announcement of NJCAA Division III Soccer All-America teams for both genders, as the Golden Rams had a student-athlete from each program earn All-America honors.

In women's soccer, ARCC sophomore forward  Kati Beckman was named to the NJCAA All-America Second Team.   Beckman captured almost all MCAC scoring marks this season, tallying 12 goals and 6 assists across 14 games.  She helped lead the Anoka-Ramsey squad to the Conference regular season crown and the Region XIII championship in a 4-1 win over Lake Superior College.

On the men's side, Anoka-Ramsey Community College  freshman forward Gabriel Monaighan also earned Second Team All-America honors.  Monaighan had three assists and ten goals in 2018 while also being selected as the 2018 NJCAA Region XIII Player-of-the-Year.  Of his three game-winning goals this past fall, two were overtime golden goal strikes. ARCC completed the season with a 10-8 overall record and were 4-1 in MCAC play.
